The cast and director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swung through Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend to preview their new film, in theaters next year, and the Jamie Foxx told ET Canada's Erin Cebula that his daughter is rooting against his villainous character!
"She's like, 'Dad, Spider-Man's gonna kick your butt, right?' And I was like, 'Yeah, he is.' -- 'Okay, alright, good, because don't hurt Spider-Man, because that's my man, you know?" says Jamie with a glint in his eye. He adds, "She watched the [first] movie, so when she saw [Andrew Garfield], the eyes, the pupils dilated."
Director Marc Webb is back to steer the action of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which finds Peter Parker's life quite busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). There are new villains in town -- Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) -- and the return of old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) makes matters more interesting.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014
