Woody Allen Plays a Pimp in 'Fading Gigolo'

Woody Allen as a pimp seems like a far-fetched premise, but it works in this hilarious trailer for Fading Gigolo.

John Turturro stars as the titular gigolo, who is coerced into the profession by his friend, played by Woody Allen. While he admits in the trailer that he may not be the most handsome man around, Allen assures him that his prowess as a lover is all he needs to be a gigolo.

Fading Gigolo also stars a dominant Sofia Vergara and a seductive Sharon Stone as some of Turturro's clients.

The film was also written and directed by John Turturro, making it one of only a handful of films featuring Woody Allen that Allen didn't create. This is Turturro's fifth directorial effort.

Gigolo was added to the Toronto Film Festival lineup on Tuesday.
