A new trailer for the upcoming Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis hit like a quiet hurricane yesterday, with gale force winds of emotion emanating from inside the dark and brooding Oscar Isaac, who plays the titular character.
The story follows the life of Llewyn Davis, a folk music guitar player, for one week as he tries to find his way around New York's Greenwich Village and the folk music business in the early 1960s.
Oscar Isaac's quiet, sarcastic and seemingly desperate portrayal of a brilliant musician struggling in a world that he doesn't quite fit into is deeply touching, and at the same time humorous, because we can see the trademark hints of bitter wit the Coen Brothers inject into all their films.
Supporting Isaac is a top-notch cast of Coen Brothers regulars, like John Goodman, and an assortment of powerhouse talent including Carey Mulligan, F. Murray Abraham, Garrett Hedlund and Justin Timberlake.
This folk tale is set to hit theaters December 20. WATCH.
