Back in March, ETonline sat down with Jerry Ferrara to talk about his new film, Empire State, prior to its world premiere at The Gasparilla International Film Festival.
"I've read a lot of crime dramas that are just bad. Real bad," Ferrara laughed. "But when I read this script, I just had to be in this movie. I love movies that are loosely based on the truth and could relate to the culture. I didn't necessarily participate in any heists, but I could relate to the idea of needing to take what you want."
Now you can finally get your hands -- and eyes -- on Empire State as the dynamic crime drama hits VOD and DVD/Blu-ray on August 30 and September 3, respectively.
Empire State tells the story of Chris Potamitis (Liam Hemsworth), who settles for a security guard job with the Empire State Armored Truck Company after failing to get into the police academy. He then makes the mistake of mentioning the company's lax security to his best friend, Eddie (Michael Angarano), and is soon unwittingly drawn into an elaborate scheme to rob the abundant amounts of cash being stored there - resulting in the largest cash heist in U.S. history.
ETonline scored an exclusive clip of Liam Hemsworth getting interrogated by Dwayne Johnson -- who plays James Ransone, the veteran NYPD Detective that is hot on their trail. WATCH!
