Henry Selick, director of Coraline, James and the Giant Peach, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, is heading into the world of live-action.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Selick, 60, has signed on to direct A Tale Dark and Grimm, which will be a live-action adaptation of the popular children's novel by author Adam Gidwitz.
The story is about fairytale children Hansel and Gretel who leave their story and wander into other Grimm-inspired stories in hopes of finding a better life. They instead find monsters in their path.
Currently, Selick is working on the post-production for his latest animated film, The Shadow King.
