Enthusiastic, dedicated fans camped out for hours around the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this weekend, waiting for an opportunity to see the stars of the hotly-anticipated action thriller The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which held its star-studded premiere Monday evening.
All the stars of the film walked the red-carpet, shaking hands with fans and signing autographs, and ET's own Nancy O'Dell was there as the stars opened up about the film, their fans, and what the whole experience has been like.
"It's nerve-wracking, but it's exciting," said star Liam Hemsworth of the hardcore fan following The Hunger Games has amassed , as shown by the multitude of screaming admirers. "We couldn't be a part of a greater project."
"It feels crazy. It's a great feeling though. Everyone's so sweet and it's great for them to be coming out like this," said Willow Shields, who plays Primrose Everdeen in the film. "They are really dedicated, for sure."
"I feel so honored just to play some part in this franchise," said Alan Ritchson, who plays Gloss. "The fact that people would go so far out of their way to come support what we're doing, it's beyond flattering. I don't feel worthy of that kind of commitment, but we've got incredible fans."
"The passion of the fans for this movie is overwhelming," said Elizabeth Banks, who portrays the heavily-costumed Effie Trinket in the film. "I mean it's amazing. I remember being that age and being pretty excited for stuff. So it's really special to be giving kids a movie in their formative years that they really feel passionate about.
Banks added that starring in such a beloved film has had its perks.
"My niece and nephew give me a little more respect. That's about it. I'm a little bit of a cooler auntie," Banks joked, then added. "I got a free coffee the other day. So that was nice."
