The blazing box-office dominance of the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire was squelched this weekend with a flurry from the animated film Frozen.

Frozen, which features the vocal work of Kristen Bell and Josh Gad, piled up an estimated $31.6 million gross domestic over the weekend ($134.3 million total), nabbing the No. 1 spot from Catching Fire, which easily topped the box office in its first two weekends.

Although its flame was dimmed, Catching Fire still continued to attract hoards of moviegoers in its third weekend, raking in $27 million domestic. The sci-fi adventure film's gross domestic total has increased to a whopping $336.7 million and its worldwide total has swelled to an incredible $673.4 million.

Finishing a distant third was the Christian Bale crime-thriller Out of the Furnace, which brought in $5.3 million in its opening weekend.

Remaining at the top of the box office after five weekends was the superhero action sequel Thor: The Dark World, which summoned $4.7 million ($193.6 million) for the No. 4 slot. Nearly 70 percent of the film's mammoth $610.3-million gross total has been amassed abroad.

The middle of the box office—Delivery Man (5th: $3.8 million, $24.8 million), Homefront (6th: $3.4 million, $15.3 million), The Book Thief (7th: $2.7 million, $12.1 million)—saw very little change from last weekend.

However, the reunion sequel The Best Man Holiday dropped 67.3 percent from last weekend with $2.7 million ($67.2 million) in its fourth weekend, which caused it to fall four spots.

The Judi Dench/Steve Coogan drama Philomena (9th: $2.3 million, $8.3 million) and Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto's Dallas Buyers Club (10th: $1.5 million, $12.4 million) rounded out the Top 10 this weekend.
