Tyler Perry's beloved Madea is back in Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas, in theaters December 13, and the prolific director reveals that he's not a big fan of directing movies when he's dressed up in drag as his signature character. Watch the video, in which Perry's co-stars Tika Sumpter and Larry the Cable Guy also weigh in on working with Perry's alter ego.
In the new movie, Madea (played by Perry) gets coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas, but the biggest surprise is what they'll find when they arrive. As the small, rural town prepares for its annual Christmas Jubilee, new secrets are revealed and old relationships are tested while Madea dishes her own brand of Christmas Spirit to all.
Written for the screen, produced and directed by Perry, Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas co-stars Kathy Najimy, Chad Michael Murray, Anna Maria Horsford, Tika Sumpter, Eric Lively, JR Lemon, Alicia Witt, Lisa Whelchel and Larry the Cable Guy.
