Stars Delight in '70s Fashions & Music of 'Hustle'

Director David O. Russell assembles his all-star team of actors from previous projects -- including Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Amy Adams -- for American Hustle, his new, free-spirited film about excess and corruption, and the stars revealed that the irresistible late '70s/early '80s setting provided plenty of inspiration for outrageous fashion, hair, dancing and dialect. The film is based on the true story of Irving Rosenfeld (played by a barely recognizable Bale), a notorious financial con artist from the Bronx who, along and his Brit mistress/partner-in-crime Sydney (Adams), is forced to work with out-of-control FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Cooper) to expose other con artists, mobsters and politicians -- including volatile New Jersey mayor Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner). Lawrence rounds out the cast as Rosenfeld's live-wire Long Island housewife, flaunting a loose-cannon demeanor that threatens to derail the entire operation.
In theaters December 20, American Hustle co-stars Louis C.K., Jack Huston, Elisabeth Rohm and Michael Pena.
