The long-awaited Anchorman 2 is coming to theaters on Wednesday, and like its predecessor, it's bound to be one of the most-quoted comedies in popular culture.
At the red carpet premiere in New York, the cast and creators of the Anchorman series shared their favorite classic lines from the original film, and their choices were shockingly similar.
"I like 'Milk was a bad choice.' That just makes me laugh," said Anchorman producer Judd Apatow, when asked for his favorite Anchorman quote.
The line occurs after Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy gets fired from his job as a news anchor, and becomes a destitute, bearded loser drinking from a milk carton on the street. It's a warm day, and as he drinks the milk, he exclaims, "It's so damn hot! Milk was a bad choice."
This particular line seemed to hold a special place in the hearts of most of the cast.
"There's always the classic ones, but I think that 'Don't act like you're not impressed' is one of my favorites," said Anchorman 2 star James Marsden, who plays Burgundy's news rival Jack Lime. "[Also] 'Milk was a bad choice.' 'Milk was a bad choice' was a great choice."
Paul Rudd, who plays field reporter Brian Fantana, talked about the day that line was said, and revealed how difficult it was to keep from laughing.
"I remember standing just off of camera when he said it," Rudd said. "I wasn't even in the frame and I was afraid I might ruin the take. It really caught me off guard."
