Based on Alice Munro's celebrated collection of short stories, Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage, the new film casts Kristen as Joanna, a timid woman who takes a job as a nanny for an older man's (played by Nick Nolte) teen granddaughter, Sabitha (Hailee Steinfeld) -- and finds herself amid a family full of internal conflict. Drawn to Sabitha's estranged, outcast father, Ken (Guy Pearce), Joanna soon finds out the hard way that her promising e-mail flirtation with the handsome rogue has been orchestrated by Sabitha and a a friend for laughs. But can she transform heartbreak into happiness?
