Paul Walker's final complete film, Brick Mansions, arrives in theaters Friday, and only we have never-before-seen footage of the late star -- a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu -- practicing with his martial arts trainer for the movie. Watch the video and share...
Paul's trainer, Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller, is the founder of Paragon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Santa Barbara and Ventura, CA, and was keenly aware of Paul's passion for the martial arts practice. So much so that he awarded Paul his black belt posthumously at his memorial, saying, "I know he will reach it one day, so in his memory, I presented it to his dad at his family memorial."
Of Paul's enthusiasm, Miller wrote on his academy's website, "[Paul] always wanted to showcase Jiu-Jitsu in his movies. Rather than the punches and kicks so common to many action films, he wanted to use his movies as a stage for Jiu-Jitsu. Some of the Jiu-Jitsu techniques from our training sessions were utilized in the Fast and Furious series. Paul would always tell me that he did not just want to be known for fast cars. He wanted to be known for fast cars and Jiu-Jitsu. He wanted to be an ambassador for Jiu-Jitsu."
Set in the criminal underworld of Detroit, where the streets are overrun with drugs, violence and corruption, Brick Mansions casts Walker as Damien Collier, an undercover cop who teams up with regular guy Lino (David Belle), whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by the drug kingpin that Collier has been tracking. As they race against time, the drug lord's true intentions become clear -- a plot to devastate the entire city.
Directed by Camille Delamarre and produced by Luc Besson, Brick Mansions is based on Besson's French hit District B13 and co-stars RZA.
