Looks like Rebel Wilson will be stepping into Goldie Hawn's iconic shoes.
The Pitch Perfect scene-stealer, 28, will star in an update of Hawn's 1980 comedy Private Benjamin, Variety reports.
In the comedy classic, Hawn portrays a woman who joins the U.S. Army after her new husband (Albert Brooks) dies while they're having sex on their wedding night. According to Variety, Wilson's take on the reboot will be completely different -- she'll be playing "a redneck who enlists in the Marines to get out of a tough situation."
Actress Anna Faris was originally cast to portray Judy Benjamin in the remake, though the project fell through in 2012.
The original Private Benjamin was a major hit, earning $70 million at the domestic box office. Hawn was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for her work in the film, and her co-star Eileen Brennan was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Captain Doreen Lewis.
Do you think Rebel Wilson will make a great Private Benjamin?
