Fans of Garden State have waited a decade for a follow-up to former Scrubs star Zach Braff’s critically acclaimed feature debut, and it looks like they’ll be getting exactly what they hoped for.

The new film, Wish I Was Here, is reminiscent of its predecessor, featuring another great soundtrack, a difficult relationship with a father, and another appearance by Jim Parsons.

It's the story of Aidan (Braff), a struggling actor, who must put his dreams on hold in order to home-school his two kids after his ailing father can no longer afford to pay for private school. Resulting in "funny chaos," Aidan decides to scrap the traditional academic curriculum and come up with his own methods, teaching both his children and himself valuable life lessons in the process.

The film from Focus Features is described as, "A funny, touching, universal story of what it means to be at a major crossroads as a parent, spouse, and child – all at once."

Wish I Was Here opens July 18 in select cities; in additional cities July 25 and August .
