Following fan-favorite turns in Non-Stop and the Taken movies, Liam Neeson is once again a force to be reckoned with in his new, hard-boiled thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones. Watch the trailer, and marvel at the haunting, emotional leverage of the Black Hole Sun cover tune.

Neeson plays Matt Scudder, an ex-cop who bides his time as an unlicensed private investigator years after he was involved in a gunfight in which "a bullet took a bad hop" and took out an innocent bystander. Operating outside the law, he agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) find those responsible for kidnapping and murdering his wife.

During the hunt, Scudder learns that the wife was not a random target -- the killers have done it before, and plan to strike again. But has he stumbled onto a situation that's much larger than anyone could have imagined?

Based on Lawrence Block's bestselling mysteries, A Walk Among the Tombstones was written and directed by Scott Frank, who helmed the critically acclaimed Joseph Gordon-Levitt thriller The Lookout and penned the screenplays for The Wolverine, Out Of Sight, Get Shorty, Minority Report and more memorable studio films.

A Walk Among the Tombstones
hits theaters September 19.
