Chris Evans may be white-hot after the blockbuster success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but perhaps he's taking that cold season a little too seriously with his career trajectory, as his next big-screen role finds him trapped on a train in a frozen future -- and chomping at the bit to move up the social hierarchy ladder. Bong Joon-Ho (The Host, Mother) directs this sci-fi epic that finds the last remnants of mankind hurtling around the globe on a train that never stops, courtesy of a perpetual-motion engine. A failed global-warming experiment has killed off most life on the planet, and the survivors try to eke out a life on the overcrowded train. But the upper class in front lives the life of luxury, and now the back of the train is preparing to revolt -- thrusting the survivors towards a full-throttle disaster.
Jamie Bell, Song Kangho, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, and John Hurt round out the multi-cultural ensemble cast.
Snowpiercer opens nationwide on June 27.
