Jonah Hill stars in 22 Jump Street hitting theaters on Friday and in honor of his flick and just because we love him so much, here are five things you may not know about the funnyman.

Number 5, Jonah credits Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman with giving him his start in showbiz. The actor was friends with his daughter as a teen in New York and Jonah impressed the actor so much he helped him out. The 30-year-old opened up about it to The Kidd Kraddick in The Morning radio show in 2011.

"He said you need to be an actor, he was the first person to say you should do this as your career and he went so far as to give me my first audition which ended up being my first movie, which was I Heart Huckabees, a tiny role … I wouldn't be here without Dustin."

Number four, Jonah has a tattoo on his forearm that reads, "Nancy Rules" dedicated to his grandmother. He is very close to his Grandma and she doesn't shy away from giving him acting advice. The 30-year-old told David Letterman that his grandmother Nancy didn't like the role he played in The Wolf of Wall Street and that he should ask Mr. Scorsese for a different part in the film.

Coming in at number three, when the actor was first starting out he lived with Justin Long. The two co-starred in a couple movies together including Accepted and Strange Wilderness. He revealed their close friendship to ET in 2006 saying, "We are actually roommates… he's my best friend, he's like the coolest guy."

Number two, Jonah is not only talented in front of the camera, he has directed Sara Bareilles's music video for Gonna Get Over You.
