Robert Pattinson might be known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, but what was he like before all the fame?
In honor of Throwback Thursday, ET dug deep into our vault and found our first interview with the actor from 2005 when he played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
“I was going to go to university instead,” he admitted about what was going on in his life at the time he was cast in the film. “I hadn't decided and I was kind of messing up my school stuff and they said, 'Hey do you want to work on this for a year?' I was like, 'Yeah, okay.'”
Since that interview, Rob has gone on to have quite the career. He achieved a massive amount of fame thanks to the Twilight films beginning in 2008. The role shot him up to massive super stardom, making teenage girls everywhere swoon. It wasn't only his dreamy ways that made him an instant household name, it was also his on and off-screen romance with co-star Kristen Stewart.
He went onto star in Cosmopolis, Water for Elephants and is returning to the big screen again this weekend in The Rover. It turns out back in 2005 he couldn't even imagine what it would be like to experience the amount of fame he’s gone onto achieve.
"It's impossible to think what it's going to be like," he told ET nearly 10 years ago. "I don’t know what it's like at all because I've never been hugely popular throughout my life. So, it's going to be a bit weird. I hope I get a bit of an ego afterwards."
