Kevin Hart has become a household name for his hilarious performances and celebrated stand-up comedy, but things got serious when the comedian opened up to ET about why his first marriage to Torrei Hart failed.

Kevin sat down to talk with ET's Rocsi Diaz about his upcoming comedy The Wedding Ringer, but ended up revealing the emotional and important truths he learned from being married at an early age.

"When people get married young, you don't really understand the true definition of marriage," said the 34-year-old, who got married to Torrei when they were both around 24.

After nearly eight years of marriage, the two divorced in 2011. "You have to learn to be partners for real, and in my first relationship I didn't understand that definition because I was young, so you do things that you shouldn't do."

Despite the divorce, Kevin hasn't shielded away from the topic of marriage. However, he's mostly dealt with it in his films. At the beginning of this year, Hart starred in Ride Along, where he played a man looking to marry a cop's sister.

In Think Like A Man Too, Kevin plays the architect of a bachelor party gone wrong. Up next in The Wedding Ringer, he portrays a best man for-hire opposite Josh Gad.
