The crime drama is about a young man, Lou Bloom (Gyllenhaal), who stumbles upon the underground world of Los Angeles freelance crime journalism, and his morals are quickly compromised.

The 33-year-old actor lost an estimated 20 pounds for the role, which makes him extra creepy-- think Christian Bale as American Psycho character Patrick Bateman.
