Guess what 90's kids? It’s Morphin Time! At least it will be in roughly two years as Lionsgate has officially slated the new Power Rangers movie to hit theaters July 22, 2016.

Lionsgate is the latest in the studio race to snatch up key release dates, and now we have one to really look forward to: a re-envisioning of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Saban Brands, who launched the original television series in 1993, is partnering with Lionsgate for the reboot of the top-rated children's series.

"The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever," Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer said in a statement.

Though we're still missing some key factors, like a cast or a director, this has us wondering if any of the original cast will appear in the reboot. Seems like Green/White Ranger Jason David Frank is still smitten with his character, check him out at San Diego Comic Con last month:
