They still got it! Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence's onscreen chemistry returns to the big screen in their new film Serena.
The two star in the Depression-era drama set in North Carolina, and this time they're not being directed by David O. Russell, but rather Susanne Bier. Lawrence and Cooper have both been nominated twice for Oscars for their roles in O. Russell's American Hustle (2013) and Silver Linings Playbook (2012). Lawrence won for Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings.
Now in Serena, based on the bestselling 2008 book by Ron Rash of the same name, the two play a couple madly in love who's relationship is challenged when it is learned that the bold and bright Serena (Lawrence) cannot bear children. This makes the future of George Pemberton's (Cooper) timber empire complicated, and ultimately causes some rifts in their relationship.
And by rifts we mean illegitimate children, murder and just all-out madness.
It's like the Cold Mountain of 2014, and it won't hit the States until around Thanksgiving.
In the meantime, check out a tease for Lawrence's highly anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1.
