In the upcoming drama Cake, the Friends star plays Claire Simmons, a woman who suffers from chronic pain and is popping lots of pills. Claire initiates a dubious relationship with a widower (Sam Worthington) while confronting hallucinations of his dead wife (Anna Kendrick), who committed suicide.

Critics are calling Aniston's performance a "redefining role" for the actress. Unlike her character on Friends or her other rom-com roles, the part of Claire has the 45-year-old actress going makeup-free, making her portrayal feel even more raw and emotional.
