Melissa McCarthy
is going undercover as a cat-lady and secret badass in this hilarious new trailer for her upcoming action comedy Spy.

In the film, McCarthy plays a CIA analyst who is tapped to go out on a dangerous mission to retrieve a stolen nuke. Without any field experience, she quickly finds herself in over her head in a world of evil arms dealers and trained mercenaries.

The film also stars Jude Law in a James Bond-esque role as the charming gentleman spy, and Jason Statham playing a somewhat gruffer version of his Transporter character. Together, McCarthy, Law and Statham seem like a comedy powerhouse.

From Paul Feig, the director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, Spy looks like it could be one of McCarthy's funniest movies yet -- specifically because it looks like she and Feig have found what worked in her previous hits and melded them together into what might be the blockbuster comedy of the year.

Taking her no-nonsense aggressive attitude from The Heat, infusing it with some of her heartfelt-yet-crude earnestness from Bridesmaids, and adding a dash of her Identity Thief insanity, McCarthy may have managed to craft her most memorable character.

Also, having Jude Law and Jason Statham lending their action credibility to the mix doesn't hurt Spy's odds of success.

Check out this wild, hilarious action comedy when it hits theaters June 5.
