Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen Go on Drug-Filled Xmas Adventure in 'The Night Before' Red-Band Trailer

Columbia Pictures

This Christmas, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie are bringing us an entirely inappropriate holiday classic filled with powerful drugs, ugly sweaters and church vomiting.

This NSFW red band trailer for The Night Before perfectly sums up the entire ethos of the film with one opening line of poetic narration:

"'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the borough, the children were snuggled, their presents wrapped thorough. But this tale's not about presents, or Santa, or ponies. It's about three dudes, three bros, three ride-or-die homies."

The Night Before tells the tale of three childhood friends whose lives have all gone in vastly different directions but they've managed to stay close despite everything. But now, with their lives getting too busy, they decided to end the tradition of hanging out every Christmas with a huge blow-out celebration.

On Christmas Eve, one of them gets an early present: a box filled with hallucinogenic drugs. And off they go into a raucous and regrettable night of intoxicated insanity.

Seeing Rogen and Gordon-Levitt reteam after the surprisingly emotional 50/50 is super exciting, then you add in Mackie - who is always awesome - and what appears to be Rogen's best Hunter S. Thompson impression, and you have a comedy that looks like a cross between The Hangover and every Christmas carol you ever heard sung at a mall.

Co-starring Jillian Bell, Lizzy Caplan and Mindy Kaling, the film was written and directed by 50/50's Jonathan Levine. Given all this star power and hilarity, The Night Before could prove to be an instant Christmas classic for adults.
