Jason Bourne is back!
Matt Damon has begun production on the action franchise’s latest installment, and he’s got the ripped physique to prove it. Producer Frank Marshall tweeted a pic of the actor on set.
"First day of principal photography complete and happy to report, BOURNE is back!" Marshall captioned the pic, adding the hashtag #Bourne2016."
Damon shared his excitement about returning to the Bourne franchise when he spoke with ET at the grand opening of trainer Jason Walsh's Rise Nation fitness studio last month.
"I’m really excited for it," Damon dished. "The thing to be most excited about is our director, Paul Greengrass is back -- that's what I'm most excited about -- hopefully we can make one that's on par with the other ones we did."
Walsh, who helped the actor get in shape for past Bourne movies, also trained Damon for the latest installment.
"Working out with me is easy, working out with [Jason] is hard," Damon admitted to ET. "He pushes me as hard as I can go, basically. … He’s a very strong guy, so I gotta keep up with him."
Damon also joked with ET about staying in shape for the role at the recent junket for his space castaway film, The Martian.
"I always look for an excuse to hang out and have a beer and a burger," he laughed. "But no, right now, I have to be in shape, just until February, and then I'm going off the rails."
The as-yet-untitled fifth Bourne installment is set to hit theaters in summer 2016.
