Natalie Portman is set to star as iconic first lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the new biopic, Jackie, and the first photo of the actress in full Jackie O attire is here.
Portman will star as Jackie in the film, set in the first four days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, when the fashionable first lady became a national icon in the midst of overwhelming grief.
Portman’s Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky is producing Jackie, which is directed by Pablo Larrain (No, The Club). The film is currently in production in Paris.
The role is certain to land Portman on shortlists for acting awards, but the 34-year-old actress won’t be holding her breath. She told The Hollywood Reporter in May that she doesn’t even know where her 2011 Best Actress Oscar for Black Swan is.
"I think it's in the safe or something. I don't know. I haven't seen it in a while,” Portman said. "I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols. And this is literally like gold men. This is lit¬er¬ally worshipping gold idols — if you worship it. That's why it's not displayed on the wall. It's a false idol."
