A very pregnant Alicia Keys took the stage with Sade, singing the British band's 1988 hit "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" -- and the talented tag-team was all for a good cause!
The glowing newlywed, showing off her growing baby bump, sang alongside Sade vocalist Sade Adu. The music heavyweights joined forces onstage in New York City for Keep A Child Alive's (KCA) seventh annual Black Ball, which raised $2.4 million for AIDS care in Africa and India.
"With the money raised from last night, KCA can now help save even more lives affected by this painful and unnecessary pandemic," said Keys, who is also co-founder of KCA. "With the launch of our BUY LIFE campaign, I am confident less people will needlessly have to die because of lack of proper care which means more children will still have parents to raise them and guide them. I'm never more inspired, then when I'm doing this!"
Because of the success of their sixth studio album Soldier of Love that has gone Platinum since its February 2010 release, Sade announced last week that the band will embark on its first tour in a decade. The tour will begin in Baltimore, MD on June 16, 2011 through August 30, 2011 in Anaheim, CA. Additional tour dates will be announced soon. Tickets go on sale October 16.
