Nick Lachey on Jessica Simpson's Engagement: I Wish Her the Best

November 15, 2010Nick Lachey's ex-wife Jessica Simpson may have announced her engagement just shy of two weeks after he disclosed his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo, but he says he's happy for her.
"I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best," he told Us magazine.
Simpson got engaged to Eric Johnson after 5 1/2 short months of dating. Lachey, who also proposed to his longtime girlfriend Minnillo, said he was still "still basking in the glow" of his engagement. "I'm sure we'll get on the other planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience."
Lachey and Simpson divorced in 2006. Their marriage was famously chronicled in the reality series "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica."
