Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott on Being Rejected by 'American Idol'

ET's Nancy O'Dell catches up with country group Lady Antebellum at a rehearsal for this Sunday's Grammy Awards, where the trio is up for a whopping six nominations!
The crossover country/pop single "Need You Now" is nominated for Song and Record of the Year and one of the group's singers, Hillary Scott, tells ET she was floored by the announcements and immediately began texting her other band members. "I rewound my DVR and watched it again, because I didn't believe it," she said.
Hillary tells Nancy that before she made it big, she tried out for the hugely popular "American Idol" but didn't make it past the very preliminary rounds to even see the judges. "I never got to see them. I literally performed for the production assistants and the interns, and I just didn't make it."
A performance of "Need You Now" also made its way onto the FOX TV hit "Glee," delighting the band. "It was the first time I've ever watched Glee, I've got to admit. It was really cool, you know, to hear them sing that, you can't help but smile," said Lady Antebellum singer Charles Kelley. Adds Hillary: "My favorite part in that performance was when it panned over to the football coach and she was just singing along to every word."
