Just hours after Britney Spears sang in a taped performance on "Good Morning America" and then made an exclusive announcement that she will be touring with Enrique Iglesias, Iglesias has pulled out of the tour.
A rep for Iglesias tells the Associated Press that his client will not be going on tour with Spears "despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run." A statement provided to AP says Iglesias "is very sorry for the confusion this might have caused to anyone." It adds that the Latin singer, who is currently on tour in Europe, respects Spears and is a fan of her work.
Spears announced on "GMA" that the tour, in support of her new Femme Fatale album, would start in June.
Billboard.biz reported earlier that Iglesias had been slated to fully produce the concerts and not just perform as an opening act.
