Bruno Mars is suing his music publisher, claiming that the company is holding him to a contract that he says has been terminated.

According to court documents obtained by ET, Bruno (real name Peter Hernandez) alleges that by February he fulfilled an obligation to deliver a minimum amount of songs to Bug Music, Inc. After satisfying their agreement, the court documents report that Bug Music had an option to extend the contract within a determined period of time but neglected to do so.

As a result, Bruno supposedly considered the contract to be terminated, which would free him from sharing 50% of his music's copyrights with the company.

The papers allege that Bug Music executives insist that Bruno is still under contract, prompting Bruno to request that a judge step in to issue a declaration stating that his contract is done.
