Elton John Celebrates 3,000th Performance

Elton John reached a major career milestone on Saturday by performing his 3,000th public show with his "million dollar piano" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Elton's first ever public concert was on March 25, 1970 (his 23rd birthday), at the Revolution Club in London. Since then, the music superstar has given thousands of performances all over the world, including 1,608 shows throughout the United States.

Elton will play an additional nine shows of his "Million Dollar Piano" show at The Colosseum before heading out on an international tour for the rest of the year.

Elton has always been known for his flamboyant style and elaborate costumes and now his "million dollar piano" is also a big star in his show. The piano -- named Blossom after jazz singer Blossom Dearie -- lights up with vivid colors and imagery to reflect the mood of each of his songs.
