Country star Keith Urban is set to undergo throat surgery to remove a polyp which has developed on his vocal chord later this month, according to his publicist.
The minor procedure will require Urban to rest his voice and also includes an undetermined amount of time to recuperate before he can perform again. Due to the recuperation period, the 44-year-old singer is postponing the "All for the Hall" benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Jan. 18.
There is some good news for Urban fans, as he'll be honoring his per-existing performance commitments leading up to his procedure at the end of this month, despite having to scale back multiple-song performances during that stretch for obvious reasons. All of Urban's other appearances will be rescheduled in 2012. This marks the second recording artist to have throat surgery, as Adele announced that she will undergo surgery last week.
