The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards nominations were announced today by the show's host Reba McEntire, with country superstar Kenny Chesney receiving the most recognition -- a total of nine nominations, including nods for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist and Song of the Year.

Behind him was Jason Aldean with six nominations, Lady Antebellum with five and Brad Paisley with four. The always popular Taylor Swift received three nominations total.

McEntire's co-host Blake Shelton is up for the top award -- Entertainer of the Year -- though he faces steep competition from Swift (last year's winner), Paisley, Chesney and Aldean.

A surprise nominee?

Kelly Clarkson is up for Single of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for her and Aldean's Don't You Wanna Stay.
