Madonna is commenting on rapper M.I.A. giving the finger to the camera during the Material Girl's greatly hyped Super Bowl halftime show last Sunday.
Madonna said on On–Air with Ryan Seacrest, that the move was "such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do." "It was negative," she said, asking, "What's the point?"
NBC censors weren't able to catch M.I.A.'s obscene gesture fast enough, and so it ended up being broadcast live to the 117 million viewers who tuned in to Madonna's speaker-bumping halftime show.
Madonna claims that it was one of her hardest performances, but with a choir and light-filled stadium, she felt surrounded by love and support.
Madonna is starting this year on a high-note. After her halftime show broke records for the most-viewed halftime show in Super Bowl history, she released her second directorial feature W.E. last weekend. The film is up for an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design and has won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
