'Idols' Serenade Recovering Phillip Phillips

Phillip Phillips is on the mend after undergoing kidney surgery earlier this month. The American Idol champ is finding the strength to endure a rigorous summer tour schedule. ETonline spoke to him and the other top ranking finalists about hitting the road.

"I'm not 100%, but I'm good. Better than expected," Phillip reported. "I haven't really been able to rehearse as everyone else because I've been recovering."

The support of his tour mates didn't go unnoticed as they serenaded him with an a cappella rendition of One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful. Skylar Laine expressed, "We're really proud of him." Quite the jokester when Elise Testone saw him a few days ago, "[He] jumped up from behind a car," she said. "He's in full action, full effect."

J.Lo and Steven Tyler are busy with tours of their own this summer, but the Idols hope they cross paths with the panelists en route. Colton Dixon "was so blown away by Jennifer's performance on the finale" and would enjoy her full-blown extravaganza. He added, "Steven is king of rock 'n' roll." Elise has "dreamed" of being an opening act for Aerosmith, but just seeing them in concert this summer would suffice if time allows.
