Rihanna debuted her new single Diamonds on Elvis Duran's Z100 radio show this morning, and the pop princess raved about the song at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
"It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it," she told Duran last week. "The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I'm excited to surprise them sonically."
In her seven years in the music business, Rihanna has maintained a unique work ethic, averaging one album release a year. But even with her omnipresence on the radio, her popularity hasn't waned.
"I love great music. When I make an album, that's what I think about -- what I want to hear," said Rihanna, who admitted to being a fan of her own work. "I think that's what my fans love."
Rihanna's next album is expected to drop in November. The singer is launching a tour, also called Diamonds, early next year. Click below to hear the new single.
