Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald Release Indie EP

Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol favorite Paul McDonald are taking their love to the next level -- the husband and wife duo are releasing a 5-track EP through their own indie label, Enzo and Ira Records.

All of the five songs on The Best Part are co-written by Nikki and Paul, with the songs being described as "alt-country." It will be available on iTunes and through iamnikkireed.com and thepaulmacdonald.com.

"It's amazing working with Nikki because she brings out a different side of me musically. Writing with her feels so natural, and so effortless," Paul says about working with his wife. "It's very stripped down, and our approach was straightforward. We wanted everything to be simple and raw, nothing that we couldn't recreate live with a band. When you listen to the songs you feel like you're in the room. When we were making this record we were so in the moment, and it feels unlike anything I've ever done before."

"There is no greater feeling than doing something you love with someone you love," Nikki adds. "What makes this album special is the fact that Paul and I wrote every song on here together. I've always loved music and felt connected to it, but was too afraid to explore that avenue. It was Paul's encouragement and talent that made me feel safe enough to try."

Of course, this isn't the first time the two have worked together musically. They released the music video for Now That I've Found You in March, and they have a song titled All I've Ever Needed which is on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 soundtrack.

Nikki, 24, and Paul, 28, married last October after six months of dating.
