Artist You Should Know: Wynter Gordon

By

No one's got the swag and style of Wynter Gordon. I had the pleasure of experiencing her charm and voice firsthand and she is in a word: magnetic.

The New York-born singer began her career as a songwriter, having first been discovered by Mary J. Blige at the tender age of 19. Her first claim to fame was penning the song Gonna Breakthrough, which was used as the title track to Mary's 2005 album The Breakthrough.Wynter would eventually find success of her own with 2011's Dirty Talk, the first single off her debut album. The track topped the US Billboard Dance Charts and was certified 3X Platinum.

This past year Wynter truly showcased her depth and range with two EPs, Doleo and Sanguine, the first two parts of her Human Condition anthology which she self-released. As she explains, she wanted to show fans a much different side of her. The result is a moving piece of work that not only showcases her vocal abilities, but also her masterful songwriting.

For now, she has no set plans to release the third and fourth volume of the Human Condition EP, but hints at some new music in the very near future. Until then, enjoy our full interview and stick around for a special acoustic performance of Tomorrow!
