In the interview, Joshua Homme and Dean Fertita break down the creative process behind some of the songs on their latest album.

Homme compared the track If I Had a Tail to Lady Marmalade and Do Doo Ron Ron, saying, "I guess [Do Doo Ron Ron] has a little bit bleak of an outlook that it seemed kind of cheeky to start that way."

As far as the animated pre-album video series, Homme said that they were excited to work with Liverpool artist Boneface, who had never ventured into animation before.

"It's really wonderful to be in the presence of and working with people where you just let them do what they're good at," said Homme. "It's very inspiring."
