Taylor nabbed her first-ever MMVA and told the crowd she was "so excited; I want to thank MuchMusic for playing music videos and giving us a reason to put a visual element to our music."
Backstage, Taylor shared her enthusiasm for sold-out concerts north of the border and how she prefers to get straight talk from her friends, famous and otherwise, when sharing her new tunes so she doesn't "put out terrible music."

Avril Lavigne, another big winner of the night, shared time on the red carpet with her fiancé, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, and shared details of her upcoming album, while Pretty Little Liars stars Shay Mitchell and Lucy Hale offered up a few nuggets about their upcoming season, with Shay teasing, "You may or may not find out who Red Coat is."
