Before they were both famous DJs and recording artists, LMFAO's Redfoo and will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas fame attended the same high school together. For E!'s upcoming series "Pop Innovators," Redfoo shares a vivid memory with will.i.am during their high school days.
In the exclusive sneak peek of the "Pop Innovators" episode dedicated entirely to will.i.am and his contributions to pop music, Redfoo recalls an experience with will.i.am at Palisades Charter High School that humbled him.
Although will.i.am is now an immensely successful DJ and rapper and entrepreneur, he came from an impoverished background, which occasionally didn't provide him with sufficient needs, like a belt.
As Redfoo recounts, the "#thatPower" rapper used to wear a tie around his waist in lieu of a belt because he could not afford one. Although Redfoo thought it was a daring fashion statement, he was chagrined when he discovered the real reason behind it.
Watch the video to see the aforementioned clip as well another exclusive clip in which will.i.am talks about being a momma's boy.
E!'s one-hour special "Pop Innovators: will.i.am" premieres Sunday (July 14) at 8 p.m.
