Serena Ryder is an accomplished singer-songwriter with two certified Gold albums under her belt and gearing up for her latest release, Harmony. The Canadian singer-songwriter is already poised to break new ground following the success of her infectious lead single Stompa.
"Stompa was the first song I ended up writing for [Harmony] and it laid the groundwork for the entire record," Serena explains.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Serena began singing at the tender age of 2 and sites a laundry list of female artists as major influences. Among them are Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Linda Ronstadt and Bette Midler.
Her talent is expansive and her songs are irresistible. Be sure to watch our full interview with Serena above for a special acoustic performance of her platinum hit.
Hopefully that will hold you over until next week when the full album, Harmony, drops August 27th. To experience one of her powerful live performances you can catch her on tour with One Republic and Sara Bareilles, which kicks off in Red Rocks on August 29th.
