Ariana Grande Suffers Vocal Cord Injury

Singer and Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande has been ordered by doctors to rest her voice after suffering a vocal cord hemorrhage. 

The 20-year-old Sam & Cat actress-- whose album Yours Truly just debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 -- confirmed her voice injury Thursday on Twitter.

"For those of u asking about my voice I screamed too much at my party totally irresponsible but it's better now, thanks for the well wishes," she tweeted. "Thank you guys for the well wishes, I'll be better in no time.. just need some rest."

Grande -- who according to Billboard is the first female artist to debut at No. 1 with a first album since January 2010 when Ke$ha's Animal topped the charts -- has been busy in recent weeks promoting her new album during appearances including the  Today show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the MTV Video Music Awards.
