By

As Britney Spears gears up for her residency in Las Vegas, ET Canada caught up with current Vegas resident Celine Dion, who shared her advice and wishes for the pop star.

Spears recently announced that she will begin a two-year, 100-show Vegas residency beginning this December, and Dion knows plenty about performing a Vegas residency.

The immensely popular singer held her first Vegas residency from 2003 to 2007 and is widely credited as bringing the Vegas residency back into popularity. Dion began her second Vegas residency, a three-year, 210-show extravaganza entitled Celine, in March 2011.

"I don't think she needs any advice from me," Dion said. "She's been there; she's been on stage; she's shook it all out; she's very talented. She knows exactly what to do."

Although she was confident in Spears' ability to handle her forthcoming Vegas residency, Dion shared her general wishes for Spears, who has previously struggled in her highly publicized personal life.

"What I wish for her, especially as a mother, [is] for her to find wonderful people who can help her find the balance between the artist that she is and the mother, and to try to find an emotional balance to cope with those two and be the best of both worlds," the Quebec-born singer said. "And I think she can really do it."
