Tim & Faith on Best & Worst Aspects of Joint Show

By

Country music's cherished couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sat down with ET's Nancy O'Dell to talk about their show Soul2Soul and revealed what they enjoy and dislike about performing together.

"Hearing her sing for me," McGraw said of performing with his wife of 17 years for their Vegas residency Soul2Soul show. "...She doesn't perform a whole lot anyway, and certainly performing together we don't do very often. So, to stand on the side of the stage and hear her sing...it's a rare treat."

Hill reciprocated her husband's flattery by praising him as one of the greatest performers of all time, and said it's "mesmerizing" to witness McGraw perform time after time.

"It's incredible to watch, and to be able to sit there and look goo-goo eyed at one another, it doesn't get old for us," the 47-year-old "Breathe" songstress admired.

Although the two were complimentary of each other's incredible singing and performing abilities, they admitted that singing in unison was an entirely different ballgame and can be a challenge even for two of country's finest.

"There's one particular song in the show that I always [think to myself] 'God, I got to go sing this song, and I hope that I can keep up with her!' 'cause it's a real rangy song and she just blows it out," McGraw admitted. "[On] a couple of songs, just trying to sing with her and stay with her...it's certainly one where you got to really concentrate to be able to keep up."

Hill's least favorite part of performing with her husband is in a similar vein as his, as she too finds it difficult to keep up with herself sometimes.

"We have this little segment that we sit down and talk a little bit. I'm a talker, so I can get going on a subject and forget that [we're in] a show. I could just talk about anything," Hill confessed. "...Sometimes I say stuff I probably shouldn't say, but [Tim] is really good about reeling it back in."
