Louder took the 27-year-old Golden Globe nominee one year to make, but she was in no rush.

"When we're shooting Glee, we basically have two minutes to do everything," said Michele. "With recording an album you get to really take your time ... It was so nice to get to just relax."

As for her Cannonball single, penned by Australian songwriter Sia, Michele said that the tune personally inspired her before it even got to the fans.

"I was like, 'Please give me this song!'" Michele said after Sia first played it for her.

Michele most enjoyed the positive message behind the ditty.

"It's so empowering," gushed Michele.
