Singer and performer Pharrell Williams was one of many stars to appear at the Rebels With a Cause Gala on Thursday, March 20, and Williams, as well as Barry Manilow, rocked the black-tie crowd with his Oscar-nominated single Happy.
The gala, held at Paramount Pictures studios, was a charity event that honored technology giant Larry Ellison and raised over $9 million in donations to support the cancer-fighting research being performed by Dr. David B. Agus, the director of the USC Westside Cancer Center and the USC Center for Applied Molecular Medicine (CAMM).
Pharrell spoke to the excited crowd after his exuberant performance.
"I can tell you right now, what's bigger than religion, what's even bigger than love, because love is questionable sometimes, it's happiness," said the 40-year-old singer. "And that is why you guys are here tonight. To invest in these people's lives, and change these lives."
Check out the video to hear more from the celebs attending the Rebels With a Cause Gala, including late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and comedian Bob Saget.
