Did Coachella Crash Instagram? Inside Social Media's Biggest Party

By

ET was at the Influential House pool party at the 2014 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., where Influential Network founders Chris and Ryan Detert hosted an epic party that brought together the biggest stars in social media at the TINHouse.

Party attendees included 19-year-old Logan Paul (3.8 million followers on Vine) and entertainment group the Janoskians (1.4 million followers on YouTube), but was it enough to actually cause the widely-reported Instagram crash over the weekend?!

"We'd like to think so," Chris  told ET's Rocsi Diaz.

"Well, the Janoskians actually broke our tweet wall," Ryan added. "It shows you exactly how many people are tweeting at one time, and they actually broke it, with 40,000 re-tweets with one individual tweet. I've never seen that in my life."

In fact, the hashtag #TINHouse actually became a number one worldwide trending topic on Twitter over Coachella weekend, due to the massive amount of followers the guests had on their various social media platforms.

So, what's the secret to getting more followers on social media?

"It's two important things," Ryan explained. “It's all about content and distribution. So make great content, and find people -- like at the Influential House -- to re-Vine you, re-tweet you and re-Instagram."
